Professional Profile

Shawn established his professional services career by working for Motorola Inc. for twelve years in their Schaumburg, Illinois (Chicago) headquarters. In his last role with Motorola, he was a Systems Integration, Senior Financial Analyst supporting Motorola's Project Management Team as prime contractors of multi-year, multi-phase, state/city-wide two-way voice and data systems sold to police departments, fire departments, and large commercial customers. Shawn was responsible for the financial health of 25+ projects at any given time with a combined valued in excess of $100M USD. During his career at Motorola, Shawn was actively involved on two award winning Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) Teams that both attended the national divisional / group competitions as regional winners based upon Motorola's Malcolm Baldridge Award winning Six Sigma process improvement methodology.  In 2002, Shawn relocated to Japan and transitioned into executive search. Prior to leading Control Plus Consulting & Executive Search (www.cpces.com) Shawn spent five years with a Tokyo-based boutique search firm as a Vice President of Professional Services. During this time Shawn was awarded by his colleagues with the first ever Leadership Award and the management team's choice for the Most Challenging Placement Award.   In recent years, Shawn has successfully executed numerous senior level finance searches for clients across a variety of industries.   

Education

Shawn has a MBA in General Management from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, Lake Forest, Illinois and a B.G.S. degree from The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.  He is native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
